Dr. Antonio Celesti received the PhD in “Advanced Technology for Information Engineering” in 2012 at the University of Messina (Italy). Since 2008 e is one of the members of the Messina and Distributed Systems Laboratory (MDSLab). He worked as collaborator in many National and International Projects, such as the EU FP7 project RESERVOIR - Resources and Services Virtualization without Barriers (2008 – 2011) and the EU FP7 project VISION CLOUD – Cloud Virtualized Storage Services Foundation for the Future Internet (2010-2013). From 2012 to 2014, he was Assistant Researcher at University of Messina (Italy) working on the POR FSE 2007-2013 project SIMONE focusing on energy management and cloud computing. From 2012 he is responsible of the Digital Iconographic Atlas of Numismatics in Antiquity (DIANA). From 2014 to 2015, he was Assistant Researcher at University of Messina (Italy) working on the EU FP7 project FRONTIERCITIES - European Cities driving the Future Internet. From 2015 he has worked as collaborator in the EU HORIZON 2020 Project Beacon focusing on federated cloud networking.
Since December 2015 he is fellow of the "Scientific Research Operative Unit".
He was Adjunct Professor of Information Systems and ICT (2011-2012), Security of Systems (2011-2012, 2012-2013), Open Source and Grid Computing (2012-2013), Foundations of Computer Science (2012-2013, 2013-2014), Computer Science Skills (2012-2013, 2013-2014), Cloud Computing (2014-2015), Parallel and Distributed Programming (2014-2015). He hes currently Adjunct Professor of Electronic and Informatics Bioengineering (2015-2016), Database II (2015-2016).
His main research interests include distributed systems and cloud computing (with particular regard to federation, storage, security, energy efficiency), and Assistive Tecnology (AT).
